I didn't come to SEO from marketing. I graduated as a mechanical engineer from southern Tamil Nadu.

Landed my first job as a quality engineer at an automobile parts manufacturer, 400 km from home. I was settling in, learning the ropes, and building a career I thought I'd stick with.

Then life had other plans. A family emergency meant I had to move back to Madurai, and I left that job behind.

To make things harder, auto and mechanical manufacturing sector was in the middle of a hiring freeze, so finding another engineering role wasn't an option. I needed work, and I needed it fast.

That's when I stumbled onto an SEO job listing on LinkedIn. I'd never heard of the field before, but I dove in; a month of self-study (shoutout to Aleyda). That one month was enough to land me an SEO internship at a small company.

That internship is where my SEO journey really began — and I've been in it ever since.
